Cripple King is the first official release from Chicago's lo-fi indie-pop rapscallions Chaperone.
Exploring deep yearning and misplacement both geographic and spiritual, Cripple King is thirteen minutes of weary words wrapped in ragged musical robes. Harmonies fade in and out, household items are used as percussion, handclaps abound. And, in the end, you're left with the half-triumphant, half-defeated coda of "Waltzing Topside", leaving you satisfied and wanting for more.
Chaperone and such.
